In2Concessions…

It is with great sadness that I write today of my acceptance of a President Barack Hussein Obama. My sorrow is not caused by his middle name, his race or his relations. I wallow in the shadows out of pity for democracy and substance. Change for change, for change is a change, give change a chance, can you spare some change ?

I am burnt to a crisp from the gamma rays of the MSM and Obamabots media blitzes. They have cast their death rays on all that oppose the policies of the junior Senator from Illinois. They have assured one is racist no matter what one does this November. The MSM hails the Obama and are set to carry him to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, hell they’d do it today if they were allowed to ignore the whole election process thing. They console themselves with ratings and pseudo progressive dreams. They care not of the tax whack I assume most of them are sure to experience since I further assume most of them make 75k.Since they’ve sold out their integrity long ago I imagine they’ll opine positively about the Fairness Doctrine which will be a Pelosi/Obama 100 days thing.

I lick the wounds of the repeated beatings from those who supposedly believed in the same things I held dear. I lay in the fetal position trying to console myself as I mutter “fucking McCain ? Ya got to be kidding me “! Yes I admit that I fully thought a year ago that Obama was just a dress rehearsal -an appetizer for the beast from Chappaqua , yet here I sit in shock. I of course never imagined the party of my (former) political registration would answer the calls of the Sirens and give me McCain. The old one being a sacrifice or an alleged sincere shot at the Oval- either view escapes my abilities of reason.

I suppose I could attempt to see the light at the end of this tunnel hoping it isn’t a train that will kill me and my country. Four years isn’t that long and surely even the most diehard Obama supporter must know his promises are legion- his chances limited by reality and bureaucracy. All must also know that we as a nation will either have to endure years of blaming Bush for what Barry can’t fix or sit through the agonizing process of watching Obama take the blame for everything.I personally foresee the former more. The accomplices of change won’t pillory their man -not now not ever. The world at large will be amused by how we will be completely humbled yet I doubt they’ll offer us anything resembling support. Malaise = Change ?

I can only hope that the race pundits with their odds of 50/50 for better white black relations are somehow wrong although I doubt they are. (See here) I’ve already steadied myself for the first 100 days marathon of “first black President” that will be drummed out for total population consumption. I hope someone gets the sound from the Oath of Office ceremony and reminds everyone he’s everyones prez.

So here I stand awaiting the arrival of the next POTUS….B.H. Obama. perhaps it won’t suck;however I cannot concede that point.

Mount Up

ObamaCare Rx for an invasion ?

Obama’s healthcare plan gives coverage to illegals ??? Great look at numbers though even if you don’t want to hear it. Little hint it isn’t 47 million

Care for illegals is the biggest unmet medical need in our nation, and Obama’s program targets it squarely. But do we really want to give them federally paid coverage equal to what US senators get, as Obama proposes?

Covering illegals adds dramatically to the cost of any program - and would encourage more folks to enter America illicitly.

Obama’s plan will likely have a horrific effect on some local health-care systems.

Obama pull out or premature evacuation ??

Obama is on it again about a Quick Withdrawal but there are some thing some of the Obamatrons need to know just in case you are pitching woodies over the Maliki interview in Der Speigel

Spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said al-Maliki did not endorse a specific timetable but instead discussed a “an Iraqi vision” of U.S. troop withdrawals based on negotiations with Washington and “and in the light of the continuing positive developments on the ground.” here

I’ll preempt the mania fans that want to harp on Barry’s Afghanistan plan. It isn’t any different than any other candidates and even the Bush Administrations. The GOP just kinda wants NATO to step up or shut up. Also Pakistan isn’t going to allow much from either Obama or McCain so this is all some real bullshit.

Oh Hugo

Remember how you thought Venezuela would be alright once the evil gringo nutter George W Bush rode out to his ranch ? Well Hugo says no and is asserting his planned continued departure from reality.

Venezuelan Pres. Hugo Chavez says the Washington-Caracas relations will not change, even if Democrat candidate Barack Obama wins US election. here

Hoop Dreams

Iran is going to enrich uranium. GET OVER IT !!! Rice is issuing renewed sanction warnings on the heels of Iran applauding US participation in the latest talks in Geneva and lest we forget the Iranian National Basketball team playing the NBA rookies in the Rocky Mountains.

The Iranian national basketball team has lost 79-62 to the NBA side Dallas Mavericks in its first match in the Rocky Mountain Revue.

Oh well America you are screwed. See you in four years maybe.

I am going to the beach and I am facing a busy weekend so I’m purging the notepad today.

AsiaTimes

AsiaTimes is located in my sidebar because they serve as a source of some interesting perspectives. In a recent article regarding the big bad Americans and our new interest in the former Soviet Republics I was moved to laugh out loud. The author really hates the idea of the US and NATO engaging sovereign nations. The author doesn’t put it that way he likes embracing the theme that we’re threatening Russia.

The Russians are conducting war games on a larger scale in the same area.

Aryan Zoo ?

First there was Knut the polar bear now there are seven white lions in a German safari park. On a serious and personal note I like zoos for the reason that they can play a role in supporting wildlife. Especially important in my opinion is allowing humans to see the wildlife and connect with it. I think this helps people understand the need for some self sacrifice for the future benefit of the wildlife.

Got Thumbs ?

The driver said she had noticed a koala on the road but drove on when she failed to see anything in her rear view mirror.
A koala has survived being hit by a car and then dragged for several miles with its head stuck in the vehicle’s front grill, officials in Australia say.BBC

bold mine to ask the following. Isn’t that what should’ve caused you to stop ?

I don’t always hate the Obama man

It was just over a year ago that I said…

So Obama is articulate but not informed. I’m thinking that means fully indoctrinated in keeping 21st Century Americans in a 19th Century education system and obeying the unions teachings.

I give B.O. the following grades. A for effort, A for conduct becoming a free thinker and A for having an idea the Dems need to learn.

If you’re curious click here to see what else I said and why.

Some things in the neighborhood I’ve liked this week

The Indictment of the ICC. Steph shows off her edginess with a piece on something a lot of people didn’t hear or care about.

Bruisin’ News Cruisin’ Ric recaps two that hit “home”

A number of the posts at outtheotherear “new to the WPBA

Clowns to the left jokers to the right…. I thought this title was going somewhere else but the post was interesting and a bit of a surprise. The info being the surprise.

And one of my own that got some comments here

So pass the tanning butter and put another steak on the grill ‘cuz the weekend is here. See ya Monday folks……

In2the New Yorker cartoon fray…

Posted in America, Anti - American, Democracy, Politics, Wordpress Political Blogs with tags on July 16, 2008 by Alfie

The story has some legs or at least for every party with a keyboard, camera or microphone. The cartoon cover piece in the New Yorker is the “fray” for today anyway so I decided to weigh in.

I think one of the funniest parts of all this is that the New Yorker is innocent to a large degree. The mag is far from being the go to source for right wingers and has a history of satirical imagery that takes more thinking than blinking.(that means you have to think about it more than look at it)

The other funny part of the whole “controversy” is the out in out lies coming from all corners. Mr. Obama appeared on the Larry King show and tossed out these nuggets.

Barack Obama says the New Yorker magazine cover, which portrayed the Obama’s as terrorists, is an insult to Muslims across America.

“And for this to be used as sort of an insult or to raise suspicions about me, I think is unfortunate. And it’s not what America’s all about.”

“I think the American people are probably spending a little more time worrying about what’s happening with the banking system and the housing market, and what’s happening in Iraq and Afghanistan, than a cartoon,” Obama said. “So, I haven’t spent a lot of time thinking about it.”

Let me jump in here.

The first quote of the presumptive Democratic Presidential nominee is laden with the following lies.

1. The Barack lie: I doubt he’s interviewed all the Muslims in America so he doesn’t know this to be true. He and his have also been involved in the active insulting of Muslims at a certain public appearance.Remember ?  So, pot calling the kettle black ? Ooops ! Was that racist ? NO ?/!

2. the article lie: Is it a portrayal or a satire ? Perhaps that’s a bit of a nuance of the words but the satirical quality of the piece is real, cerebral and traditional.I don’t think the New Yorker or the cartoonist was actually trying to call the Obama’s terrorists.

3. The Right Wingnut bigot Lie: There is some usage of this as “evidence” that Obama must be a Muslim since he is upset over a cartoon. This from a group of people that stereotypically can’t find NY on a map let alone an issue of the New Yorker anywhere.

Number two quote has some baggage too.

1. Baracks lie: “I think is unfortunate.” No you love this distraction and I imagine the only unfortunate part is it’s about you. Ironically that is the best part since it allows you to play the victim and false uniter etc.

2. Leftwing moonbat lie: “It is what America is all about. America is a racist dirty ugly nation” !!!! (there is of course a Michelle complication here)

3. Right wingnut lie: “It is what America is about-freedom of speech”! Ooops ! that one is true.

4.Barack lie v.2.1: He doesn’t really know what he means by “not what America’s about.” ,but damn if it isn’t a great soundbite.

Last One.

Barack lie: The whole thing. The American people are being inundated with this story totally yoked in front of a media that thinks this is important stuff. The “average” America hasn’t a clue about the banking and housing market but you like how this talking point fits in during this pseudo news cycle. Iraq and Afghanistan ? I can’t even get started except to say Afghanistan wasn’t news until 9 American’s died recently and now it’s the worst day ever. And lastly you have dived into this with every part of your being,it is a top list line item on your dailies and you are a fucking lying politician. Repetitive I know but true.

On a side note an excellent article at RCP which closes with this:

In the final calculation, unsophisticated yahoos, to the extent they really are, pose a lesser threat to the nation than an elitist intelligentsia convinced it knows what’s best for the rest.

Monday Mount Up: “Fuck off” is still an F,but not a zero…

Posted in Wordpress Political Blogs with tags on July 14, 2008 by Alfie

The head examiner of a British school-examination board, Peter Buckroyd, whose examinations are taken by 780,000 children, recently explained to teachers why a pupil who answered the question, “Describe the room you’re in,” with “Fuck off”—an actual case, apparently—should receive a grade of 7.5 percent rather than a grade of zero. Indeed, Buckroyd went so far as to say that “it would be wicked to give it zero because it does show some very basic skills we are looking for.” CJ

I am dying to know what people think about this.
