The #1 post on the WordPress blog stat machine as of this posting is CNN’s report that now the porn industry wants a bailout. I imagine anything with Larry Flint and the government is meant to be a statement since he has such a history of getting along so well with them.
I find it sadly amusing when people that are so insignificant keep plugging along trying to get the attention they fail to deserve. Flint, Moore and so many others think they are some type of social dynamic machine. So this story will be a #1 headline here or there and will run the cycle on blogs and comedy bits. Any real political statement directed at the insidiousness and insanity of all the bailout programs will be lost.
As for America’s need for help in it’s collective sexuality I think we’ll all be ok. Let’s face it some intimacy and pleasure will surely be needed after the government is done fucking us way past the money shot and we all need the one thing that isn’t taxed or overly regulated yet.
I don’t think that Larry Flint is really asking for a porn bailout. This is just satire in classic Larry Flint style.
Think of it as “performance art.”
