As a native, it never surprises me that non-natives always refer to peyote -never knowing that our biggest contribution to medicine is actually willow-bark tea – for you non-natives, it’s called aspirin.
They also had diplomacy. Seriously though I posted this because almost any way I sliced it in my head I couldn’t buy it as pro immigration/open borders. It simply plays out along the lines Marc puts forth.
What a shame the author of that cartoon didn’t know that none of the native peoples in what is now the United States back then had developed writing. For that matter, if memory serves, they hadn’t discovered metal or the wheel either. They had, however, come across some interesting recreational drugs. I’ve always wondered if there’s a connection.
So wait, there argument for legalizing illegals is that if the same rules had applied then, the pilgrims would have never been allowed in?
Wow, what a completely dumbass argument.
See:
Indians having to give free corn hand-outs to pilgrims so they wouldn’t starve
Pilgrims bringing a whole host of utterly devastating diseases with them
The introductions of firearms into Indian society, totally upsetting the balance of power amongst local tribal groups
Ohhh, and then there is that part where the immigrants killed the Indians and pushed them off their land.

Actually, they had discovered copper, but then mysteriously stopped using it.
Just getting the facts straight.
