Crimigrant News

One of the hot news items in Massachusetts today is the incident of a Yarmouth police officers shooting of a father of two.

The Boston Globe the alleged paper of record in the Bay State takes the position that the police are wrong. That this is a tragedy. The truth is found in the points I only imagine pained the pro open borders, anti- sovereignty news staff on Morrisey Blvd to type.

The crimigrant was just that a criminal. He has a record and outstanding warrants and he attempted to harm the police officer via crashing his vehicle into the cruiser. This maneuver was surely meant more as a means to escape, another crime actually, but it does represent a legitimate threat to human safety. You hit someone intentionally with a car ,the car is considered a dangerous weapon.

His girlfriend believes the police should have aimed for the tires. Apparently she doesn’t believe her lover should have accepted being blocked in and peaceably surrendered. She is perhaps understandably ignorant that Mass. Gen. Laws actually authorizes the action taken by the officer. She loves him even though one of the charges of his past was threatening to kill her even though she was in the car and being taken on a crime ride.

The friends and family of the crimigrant believe he was shot because he was an immigrant, that racism is present and / or that he acted out of fear of deportation. Sadly all parties other than the criminal are guilty of something in their eyes. How wrong they are. Boston Globe

Some of the interesting quotes from the article:

From the girlfriend:

“He didn’t have any time to defend himself,”

It isn’t a defense situation. Get out of the car with your hands up.

“See what they took away. My son didn’t deserve to have his father taken away.”

See what your boyfriend chose to abandon.

From the crimigrants dad who is a reserve police officer in Brazil

“They have to think before they act, to be more cautious,” de Castro Martins said. “I know that the situation is difficult, but you can’t simply shoot at someone.”

Ummm from the BBC

“Hundreds, possibly thousands of people are shot by police every year in Brazil, a BBC investigation has found.”

And from Fausto da Rocha, executive director of the Brazilian Immigrant Center in Allston,:

“…said many immigrants are worried that Van Ness will not be held accountable because Martins was an illegal immigrant.”

The officer is accountable. He’s on leave while the investigation is conducted. The officer will live with the knowledge he ended a persons life for the rest of his life. He likely won’t be found guilty though because unlike the illegal ,he obeyed the law.

I was stunned when I saw this on the news and flabbergasted when I saw the Boston Glob (and I do mean Glob….it’s a farce to call it a news -paper) this morning. How can it been “racial”. The man never stopped – never spoke with the officer – just sped away and then hit the police cruiser with this own car – so how was this a racial incident? This guy, found with a joint in his mouth, (yes, the guy was actively smoking a bone) was careening throughout the neighborhood, in the wee hours of the morning (1am) at speeds in excess of 80 miles an hour WITH HIS 5 YEAR OLD AND 2 YEAR OLD CHILDREN IN the CAR!!!!. The paper states that his was a doting father – holding the best birthday parties and giving kids rides on his dirt bike – yeah, and he takes them cruising, stoned and speeding, one helluva great father figure. Alfie – I agree with you fully – a criminal ran afoul of the law and lost. The saddest thing is that the cop will spend the rest of his life with this weighing heavily on his heart and it will follow his career until he retires. And it’s pitiful to know that within 24 hours of the incident, the girlfriend (who I think should be charged with harboring a criminal and illegal alien) was pouting poor-mouth looking for money to send his remains back to Brazil.
