Has the lllloooonnnngggg Primary really hurt Obama….
I’m curious about people’s opinion on this. The typical buzz is “Absolutely ” ! I don’t think I agree.
He’s getting the cash still. He doesn’t have to face tough issues still (Rev.Wright aside plus that’s gone for now.) He is totally in the spotlight every day via the MSM. He is basking in the “love” of the quibbling dems. I don’t get how it is hurting him. I’d also have to add that he clearly benefits cruising to the convention the pretty boy fave. I ‘ d further stip he is better off only having to come out of the summer in real campaign mode. That will mirror his meteoric rise initially seen in his rock star no substance ascendancy. I don’t know I don’t see how this extended primary hurts the dems in any way. I’ll concede it makes nice for some minor fodder but I’m one Repub who thinks there is little to cheer about here.

I listen to Rush bloviate over his Operation Chaos success but I wonder if it’s a double-edged sword. Assume that Rush actually has played a part in keeping Clinton in the campaign, that would also mean that more Obama ads and campaign stops are running in states that wouldn’t have otherwise run. Sure, there was plenty of mudslinging, but it’s kinda giving him some more national exposure as well, while McCain sits on the sidelines.

I agree with Alfie - this drawn out campaign is most definitely to his advantage. He is constantly “in our face”, good, bad or indifferent. He is the Michael Jackson of politics: his popularity is outrageous, he appeals to the masses, he dances around the issues, sings of the unbelievable and even the bad doesn’t seem to stick to him. If he wins the primary, he will come out “victorious” with the persona that “he can bring America together”, “against all odds”, the “David who battled with Goliath and won”. I believe that due to this - McCain will have an uphill battle against him - the momentum will be all Obama.

Funny you should mention Michael Jackson! I have watched this video over and over again trying to get it. When I finally did, it was simple. At the core of the malaise of Caucasian people is-I believe-a heritage of their color being compared to leprosy, that somehow it is not alright to be white. I believe this can be documented as an historical rejection that goes far back in time. I have seen some of this on friezes found in pyramids and elsewhere in arcane literature.
The appeal of Barack Obama may well be the appeal of Michael Jackson, a black man who turned white right before our eyes. I have no doubt that the slurs against him were as much about pandering for money as well as what must have been a terrific fear on the part the hidden agenda mongers that any man who could send literally millions of people into a swoon with his presence, [I mean men, women and children] might also have the power to radically change things. Here is the video of Michael singing Black or White with razor sharp “Slash”. I think Michael Jackson may have set the stage for what is happening now. So, all you conservative workaholics, take a break and watch a master at work

Ooops! Left somebody hangin’. Here is that incredible video. Black or White. Michael Jackson and Slash rocked this! And it really, really “don’t” matter. Common people. Find that childlike innocence that made you soooooo beautiful. It’s all here!

***KKOJE note the platform doesn’t actually allow the embed of video in comments. The link is now live though. On a side note I checked out your site. The point about music and social change is an excellent one. Thanks

Thanks for the heads up. I hope you all enjoy the vid. What I have always love about America is the idea that the people who came here, came to escape repressive, oppressive regimes and create a country and ultimately a world where equality and mutual respect and appreciation was the core value. I believe in humanity. I believe we are just gorgeous, stunning and hard to ignore. I imagine that our struggles and our triumphs, our suffering and our rise above it is high drama in other galaxies. Watching that video gives me hope that we will get it together with each other one day soon.
