WPBA Views on 1/20
The following is a diverse collection of bloggers. Collectively they make up part of the WordPress Political Blogs Alliance.
I am proposing a group posting event. If you are so inclined let me know via the comment section of this post.
The title is the same as the title for this post.
The topic. 1/20/08 marks the launch of President George Bush’s last year in office. What will 1/20/09 mean, how about 1/22. Perhaps you’d like to present a review of W’s time. Still again a look at the real election cycle may be your thing.
All I’m saying is I’d love to look at the feed on 1/20/2008 and see 20+ posts from this collection of bloggers. Are You In ?

Sounds like fun, I especially look forward to hear the lefty views of GW’s terms(Hysterical Raisins). I am sure nonnie and her minions will be fair…
So any topic regarding the past 7 years or the coming 5?
I hope you will post reminders when the time gets near, I forget things from time to time…
December 21, 2007 at 4:15 am
I’ll participate; I can already predict that by that date the world will have finally recognized that Bush is actually channeling Winston Churchill, Harry Truman and Abe Lincoln…(not even counting God). It will be a powerful moment. The liberals will be gnashing their teeth.

Elric this thread is reserved for the WPBA and the related project I am working on. Also your comment was unnecessary and unwarranted. This is my blog and I like the blogroll as it is. Your continued ability to comment here is proof that I allow diverse views. Please note I allow myself the right and honor to extend that where and when I may.

I know I’m in. This is right up my alley, actually.
Should we have an official title (or something else that links them together) for the post?
in2thefray- did you leave the the likes of Ned and Nicedeb out intentionally?
TRM- I’ve got everyone’s email addys. It’d be easy to send out a reminder.
seesdifferent- Have you made a ping page yet? (I noticed that you’re using the tag).
Anyway, I think we could add to this list. I’d like to see what Psycheout might post, for example.
December 21, 2007 at 12:43 pm
Yeah, sounds like a great idea, I’m in. Should we post trackbacks to this post?
December 21, 2007 at 1:34 pm
Have to catch up with the others no intentional left out just lagging behind a little. No trackbacks I thought the feed would deal with that we and others can use the feed to find one another.More soon
December 21, 2007 at 1:39 pm
I’m in … but I’m with TRM on the reminder. I’ve put it on my calendar, but I tend not to check it except to write things down (never to look for them).
I’ve actually been thinking about writing a review of the Bush administration, so I guess I’ll hold off a few weeks and make it a bit more thoughtful.
December 21, 2007 at 5:49 pm
Nice. Yeah, I’m in — send me a reminder closer to the time, as my brain can get fogged!
December 21, 2007 at 5:57 pm
I have a little more time here sssoooo… Reminders will be issued for sure.I will message out via comment, ping and/or email. I will patrol the individual posts on the day and assemble and post their links as a new post. I think if others took the time to ping a few different ones that would increase views and general discussion ability. It also doesn’t impose on any one blogger. Ping/trackback as many as you like though. I think for the sanity of all though I’d avoid using the pingback line of code CZ crated. That thing would be going nuts if we all used it.
Also in an update full disclosure kind of way. Technically Doug and Ric aren’t on the feed. I respect their views and quality of writing and general blogging etiquette so I’m kinda stalking them hoping they’d jump in.

Count me in. I think this could prove to be interesting
December 22, 2007 at 12:02 am
8 differing views out of the gate. I look forward to more signing on.
December 22, 2007 at 12:59 am
Blogs 4 Brownback has more memorable posts than Blogs 4 Conservatives, although I’m working on that. But this does sound like an interesting idea.
Keep me posted.
December 23, 2007 at 2:55 am
Count me in. It will be interesting just to gather my thoughts for a post on this topic.
December 24, 2007 at 1:34 am
Sounds interesting, I’m in.
December 24, 2007 at 2:57 am
hmmm…I might just have to get started on this.
December 24, 2007 at 3:15 am
Speaking of that, remember that you can timestamp a post for 1/20/08, so that it automatically gets published on that date. It works pretty slick, and you can even specify the exact time for it to appear.
So, if you find yourself with some free time and nothing interesting to post, you can do it early. And setting the timestamp means that you don’t have to remember (’cause I know it will sneak up on us).

11 and counting ??? Good point Chen. Wednesday or Thursday I’m making personal visits to the blogs that haven’t answered. On another point of earlier concern. The title. I was thinking WPBA Views on 1/20: ( whatever the individual blogger wants to add). I appreciate this could get kind of long but for continuity as well as the flair/hook individual bloggers may want it allows for both.

I’m in! Great idea!
December 28, 2007 at 5:53 pm
[...] In closing it is my intention to continue blogging in the ‘08 and am especially looking forward to the WordPress Political Blogger Alliance group post on the 20th. This should be pretty cool. We’re at 12 different and diverse blogs and counting that have elected to post their thoughts and views on the day the W Administration begins it’s last year. original post here [...]
December 29, 2007 at 2:35 am
I’ll give it a shot also. However, I will need a reminder also. The memory isn’t what it used to be, and it was never great to begin with.
January 1, 2008 at 3:48 am
If it’s not too late, I’d like to participate in this group posting.
January 1, 2008 at 7:42 pm
i would like to participate. my plate is rather full at the moment, but i think things will die down a bit, and i will be able to come up with something. i don’t want to disappoint TRM, after all!
now it will be a matter of remembering to do it!
January 1, 2008 at 8:17 pm
You and I are on different ends of the spectrum although I imagine I’m to the left of TRM. When thinking of this idea I have to admit I thought your work would be very fitting and a great add to the whole spectrum mix. I will issue 2 reminders leading up to the day and look forward to seeing the results. thanks.
January 2, 2008 at 1:28 am
Are we tilting right? Nevertheless, this should be really interesting!
January 2, 2008 at 1:47 am
CZ by my estimation we’re looking:
Center to right =9
Center to left = 6
I was going to take one last stab at SuzieQ perhaps you could. I also have no reservations if you have any suggestions etc. My only reservation was that I wanted to muster up some other international views.
January 2, 2008 at 2:22 am
Re: International views
I just sent The Sphinx an email.
January 2, 2008 at 10:16 am
I think the idea’s good, however concerning this very topic I’m out of initial ideas or inspiration. If it’s due by January 20, I might be able to come up with something. If not, I’ll have to wait for the next group posting
Thanks CZ for the mail by the way
January 2, 2008 at 2:32 pm
Sphinx: No worries. The thinking is the posts hit the feed on the 20th. I would also point out the potential material is: W himself, the last year of Administration, the next Administration ,the 08 election cycle in light of the W,the past of the W and of course of interest to me personally no pressure intended, views of any of the above from an outside perspective. I hope you can make it thanks to CZ btw

[...] with a year to go January 20, 2008 — Ned Raggett Over at in2thefray’s site, he suggested this idea a while back, so today is the day to talk about 1/20/08, a year before 1/20/09 and a new president, whoever it [...]
